Feeding Frenzy in the “Into the Wild” bus. We thought it was gimmicky, but we are actually from Fairbanks, and we did actually begin in a cabin without running water- because that’s how we all live, haha.

taking field notes when you’re wet and extremely cold is the last place on earth I’d want to be again. But not many people get to say they’ve eaten lunch under a boulder in a creek to stay relatively dry enough to eat.

I took this from my field office three summers ago in Denali National Park. I was working as a research assistant for a UAF grad doing her thesis on Denali Basin paleoclimate reconstruction. But at the same time a bunch of paleontologists her and our professor knew were wrapping up work. So they took us out to look at a BUNCH of dinosaur footprints. 
ANYWAY, my friends who go camping are back in town!
